Our Appeals!

We are running a not-for-profit organisation that rescues battery,

barn, freerange hens and  sometimes other poultry.  Everything at the beginning was funded by myself.  All our catchers and helpers come on a voluntary basis.

We rely completely on donations from the public.

We are currently using a small holding as our base for Little Hen Rescue, thanks to everyone's help it is now is able to hold about 2500 hens safely over night.  This is open to the public on named days.

OUR NEW APPEAL to help us buy a new trailer with 3 axles for added stability!

We are also hoping for a new trailer after our terrible accident on the A14, as usual we are looking to get a second hand one, or possibly a flatbed truck.

Please, if you can donate a little towards it all helps!

As always we need fencing and deer gates to keep foxes and dogs out, everything is being done piece by piece in order to prioritise.

We always re-home healthy hens so we have a lot of hens that need care at LHR, who become our resident and sponsor hens.

You can help us in other ways too!!!

Your Donations so far....

Thank you, we now have a container!

October, November, December, January and February Rescue and Donations

Thank you all for your donations for hens and sponsorship, with them we firstly kept the hens from a rescue in November and feed them whilst we waited for homes to arrive.  It is always slow over winter and especially Christmas.  On the good side, we now have a set of hospital wing cages arriving that stack, which will give us more space for our needy girls, in an orderly fashion!

August, September 2009 Rescues and/or Donations

Thank you all for your donations for hens and the sponsorships, we now have almost finished paying for our second hand, large 18ft trailer!  We have also another 80 poultry crates.

May, June and July Rescue and Donations

Thank you all for your donations for hens, with them we have bought a second hand golf buggy to help us up and down the fields with bags of food.  A real back saver!

We now have more sheds, medical cupboard, medical supplies, and more pens in hospital wing.

April's Rescue and Donations

Thank you to all that donated via website and to those that re-homed hens and gave us a donation, with your donations we have raised enough money for 250 metre enclosure at LHR.  It is up and built and already housed 6000 hens over the last 4 weeks.

This is a godsend to LHR as space was running out due to having our resident sponsor hens (100) and the bald hens that are busily dustbathing in the stables whilst their feathers grow back.

We will continue to build more as we re-home more hens, all donations will be put towards our fencing fund!

December 18th Rescue and Donations

We have raised enough money for 112 metre enclosure for our girls, thank you to everyone that re-homed our last lot of hens the donations you gave us for the hens has given us a safe place for another 500 hens!  We decided to get the 6ft chain link fencing as it is  more permanent, I will add photos once its all finished! Being erected 12/13th January.

We will continue to build more as we re-home more hens, all donations will be put towards our fencing fund!
